The board-certified pediatrician will be an expert advisor on issues related to baby care
January 15, 2019

Associate Editor at Nonwovens Industry
Lorraine Beraho, MD, MPH, FAAP, a board-certified pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, has joined The Center for Baby and Adult Hygiene (BAHP) as an expert advisor on issues related to baby care, providing crucial insight for mothers and caregivers. “We are so pleased to have Dr. Beraho join us as an advisor to our BAHP team,” says Jane Wishneff, BAHP executive director. “Through her daily contact with patients, Dr. Beraho brings a wealth of knowledge about the questions mothers and caregivers are asking and how we can best answer those inquiries and share information with them. Having Dr. Beraho on our team brings another level of insight and knowledge that will be instrumental in meeting the needs of consumers.” Dr. Beraho’s interest in being a doctor comes from her mother, who is a nurse. She saw first-hand how important it was to have someone who truly cared about their patients, and that was something she also wanted to do in her career. Dr. Beraho believes a physician is a teacher and is always looking to teach her colleagues, nurses, medical assistants and parents. More importantly, Dr. Beraho believes it is imperative to “disseminate accurate information.” “It was that same need to inform and care for patients that interested me in this role with BAHP,” Dr. Beraho says. “I want to go beyond my day to day and be an advocate. I want to ensure that mothers and caregivers are receiving accurate information in a credible way when it comes to the use of disposable diapers, and in this role, I can help them make informed decisions.” A licensed physician in California and the District of Columbia, Dr. Beraho completed her residency at Inova Children’s Hospital in Falls Church, VA. Originally from East Africa, Dr. Beraho was raised in South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, her Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
